AKME NBA Robots

With an insanely quick turnaround, I brought imaginary bots in an NBA promotional film to life.

Every year, the NBA host’s a tech summit to go announce some of the technologies they’re investing in. This year, it was autonomous robots that can assist you on and off the court.

In a span of 3 weeks, I re-modeled AKME’s CGI models into hard-body solid mechanical models I could quickly build tech out with integrated micro-pcs, LEDs, and various drive systems to bring the illusion of autonomous robots to the stage.

All SLA resin printed and painted by my friends at Thereyouhaveit3d & McGuffin makers, these bots looked like a million bucks. Transparent 3D prints allowed for the visor and lens looks, and their personalities conveyed through their faces and character animation.
